my new hp spectre laptop has a blank white space on the side and it wont go away how do i fix this

sometimes the side that is white will turn black and a bunch of different colors how do I fix this

If it is brand new, take it back and have them exchange it. If you are past the exchange time, then contact the manufacture. A new device shouldn't give you problems.
