Then my laptop's battery went off, so i reopened my laptop and this happened
Ah, so likely system files or driver files are corrupt since it interrupted updates. Don't run updates when not connected to wall power. See if you can get into the system restore points and restore the system to before the updates ran.
Not a lot of info there about the issue, but most likely thing is the video card is bad, or the screen is bad. You need to add more info about the system and what happened before the issue started. Brand, model, was the system having issues before, was it dropped, spilled on, etc...?
