My sound is weirdly busted

Hello again,

this time i turn to you, for i have nowhere else to turn.
I have a pretty weird problem with my sound, and it goes a little like this:

My sound works in WMP and VLC player, or any program like VirtualDJ or Reason (ANY other program, even games), but everything else is muted.
I have no Windows sounds, i have no youtube sounds in any browser (i had to upgrade to IE 8 to find this out and that was a waste of time.)
I tried everything possible..reinstalled drivers codecs, tweaked regedit, directx diagnostics and still nothing works...i just want my youtube back.

check the mixer on the volume control at teh conver of ur desktop.

How did you know the sound is working when you don't hear any sound?

What did you do on REGISTRY?

What's your computer sound device? do you have an extra sound card you can install?

Do you know how to go in to bios in your computer?
