my Toshiba Satellite laptop will not reset for no reason tried everything

Toshiba has a neat reset feature to boot directly to the recovery partition. Hold down the 0 key (NOT on the num pad) before turning on the computer. Press the power button and hold the 0 key down until you see it say "Loading Windows."
If this doesn't work that means that most likely your recovery partition is corrupted and if that is the case it is most likely useless.

I have tried holding the 0 but then turning the computer off and it did not work the person that gave me to Peter said it had a virus so I wanted to try to put it back to factory settings like it was new
