My wireless adapter in my Satellite P55-A5200 is beginning to crap out, it needs to be reset constantly. Latest drivers are installed. What would you recommend as a replacement 5.8 - 2.4 capable? Brand, internal, usb?

Did you try the laptop in different networks?

Is the wifi card inside the laptop still tightly seated? Unplug and replug it two or three times
should be equal to this:

Replacing the internal card with a different better card can work, but could be incompatible as well.
Search for "Mini PCI-E Wlan Card (half size)". AKA PCIe Half Mini Card or HMC.
Don´t get a M.2 card, this won´t fit.

A USB wifi adapter is the most compatible thing, but if the laptop is often used mobile, it can be uncomfortable
