a green and red line has appered from top to bottom on my hd tv 22in that i can not get rid of any help please

I had a vertical purple line going from top to bottom on my 22" Viewsonic monitor. Ended up having to send it in for service. Probably not what you want to hear, but possibly your only option.

when you say panel do you mean the whole screen? and could you give me a rough estimate on how much to repair?

If it is outside of warranty, you may want to jump on NewEgg and get a new one. Panels are normally 95% of the purchase price.
