Based on general value for someone who wants to play some games, watch some movies and not lug around a brick if I take this thing on a plane. I'm overseas right now so I need something to occupy my free time or I'm going to lose my mind. I had an A8 laptop (ran everything pretty well) but it was stolen while I was home on leave. Now I'm looking to replace it.

I like the idea of the anti-glare screen on the MSI but I also like the back-lit keyboard on the Y580. The lower price of the Asus is also a big draw, considering it's still a high-res screen. Any advice before I pull the trigger is appreciated.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y580, although i7-3630QM is slower 2.3GHz. Like the SSD cache, but it have a slower HDD 5400rpm.

MSI GE Series GE60 have a faster HDD 7200rpm. faster process speed 2.4 GHz

All thing being the same, I would go with the MSI, for me running faster is more important then loading faster.

Go for the ASUS N56DP-DH11, your dealing with two GPUs, the 7660 on the CPU is integrated, and the 7730 is dedicated. Having a full AMD system will give you some of the best performance. Look up videos if you'd like

Bit late bud - And an intel with a better dedicated GPU will destroy that setup... At least do some research before you give advice.

Haha, an Intel Fan Boy, nah...
The guy liked the Lower priced option, I have seen what this laptop can do.
$850 vs $1350.... Umm I would prefer $850 for a great performance. He had the A8 already.
Yes 660m is a GREAT GPU but you should do some research on AMD Fusion, and this laptop as well..

$1350? See this is where you responding to a post that has been dead for over 2 weeks makes you look like an idiot... The OP wanted to buy the computer that day... When the price of the laptop was ~$900. So your advice on a dead post is pointless and that Y580 will outperform the AMD by a good amount and it was pretty much the same price. SO for same cost would you still be pushing the AMD? - Yea didn't think so.
