1. What is your budget?
$1,000-$1,300

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
15"+

3. What screen resolution do you want?
full hd.

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
a bit in between. not something super heavy.

5. How much battery life do you need?
i realize i'm probably looking at three or four hours at best, so...

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
yes. high most of the time.
witcher 2, mass effect 2, deus ex human revolution, fallout: new vegas, elder scrolls 5.

500-750 gigs will suit.

seriously considering buying the np8130 from xotic or sager, but i want to know my options, especially if those options are cheap.
please throw some ideas at me!

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
2 or 3 years.

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
a blu-ray drive would be great, but i can manage without one.

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
don't really want an asus gaming laptop since i've heard that their line has had some problems.
i'm liking sager, i've heard good things. i especially like schenker, but i'm not sure how i'd get one here in the us. like i said: i want to know my options. go all out.

13. What country do you live in?
united states.

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
i'd like something with a high quality screen and a full size keyboard that is comfortable. i will also need an hdmi port.

i don't want something flashy.

edit: oops I missed that you wrote you don't want an asus laptop. I also was scared by the negative newegg reviews on power buttons not working, but I've used one in person and the power button worked. That sager n8130 also looks good.

I've been looking at these ASUS laptops. I haven't decided yet myself, let us know which one you choose.
