I'm having a little trouble deciding between laptops, on which one would preform better for what I need.

Now, the hardest part, I'm on a strict $400 maximum budget, the cheaper the better. I won't be able to spend anymore than $400 (not including tax). I will be able to upgrade the laptop with 4 more GB within the first month of getting the computer, plus more (if needed/possible) over time.

Right now, I'm looking at either these two ;

I'm thinking that the Pavilion would be a better go because of the processor and graphics?

I will need the computer for schooling, graphic design (mainly Photoshop CS6), web browsing and video, and small gaming such as Minecraft, Sims, possibly Skyrim, and other miscellaneous less demanding games. I also don't mind playing on lower graphics! My older laptop had the same processor and graphics as the Pavilion and I could run all of the said games on low to medium settings very well.

I don't mind battery life as I can keep have it plugged in as much as needed, though it has to be a laptop so I can take it between houses for schooling. I would also much much much prefer the screen size at 17"! :]

Now, I know that I'm asking quite a bit for having a $400 maximum, but that's unfortunately all my financial situation can handle right now. :[ As for the gaming, I understand that these are not at all "gaming" laptops, but it's all I can really do.

So my question is, which one would be better to go with? Or does anyone have any suggestions for 17" laptops that are a max of $400?

Thank you in advance! :]
