Hello,I'm a student and intend to purchase a notebook this new year...
i'll be mainly using it for web-browsing(the wireless kind),the usual multimedia tasks and synchronizing my other devices....oh,i almost forgot, also a bit of gaming...nothing fancy btw, just oldies like fifa, warcraft, gta, call of duty and the like...and i'm prepared to go upto INR 60000 to buy it in india....and considering the import duty and tax,i'll get the same laptop at 60 ks that u will at $1k...so please recommend me a laptop that will meet my requirements and will come within 1000 bucks...thank u in advance
p.s. i've been having a look at a lenovo ideapad y560 model with the following specs: 15.6",i5 450M,4 gb ram,ATI hd 5730 1gb,500 gb hdd for $949 which is Rs.55000 in india....is it worth it?

guys he needs notebook in India only, not from USA as it will cost him very much after paying duty. So keeping this in mind the deal which he found above is very nice. Go for it bro it will handle any game and all task quite smoothly.

This might make india seem a bit primitive but we don't have i7 laptops in india at all....the highest we can go is probably i5 540M
and i checked out the dell laptop....found that we have a slightly downgraded version having 500 gb hdd
and 4 gb ram....and it's dirt cheap...like,it only costs 42 Ks INR n that's pretty cool
definitely keep that in mind during the purchase
but i have a few misgivings regarding the graphics card...is it better than or worse than the hd 5730
and dell as a brand,is it more trustworthy than lenovo?
and yes, thanx for the reply and for spending time 4 me on newegg :)

Thanx for replying, and more importantly, for keeping the india factor in mind.....
i'm looking at a few other laptops(as every guy spending 60 K bucks should),but nothing i've seen so far is as impressive as this notebook,so i'll probably settle for this one
dell IS giving away a pretty good laptop but i found that the graphic card hd 550v is several tiers lower than the hd 5730....n reviews of y560 r very good except for webcam n battery life, neither of which bother me in the slightest.....your approval of the piece probably clinched it for me....thanx for that....now i can buy it w/o any misgivings and with the conviction that i'm probably getting the best laptop i can for my money
thank you,every1 at tom's hardware....u r doing a fantastic job!!!!!
