Need an affordable all round performance laptop

Please suggest a laptop around 1200 USD
I need to run applications like ANSYS and Solidworks and for gaming purposes. Not a hardcore gamer though.

couple of questions first what screen size do you want? second what batery life do you need? and third do you need a laptop as you would be beter served by a latop+ desktop
