Hi all. I just started back at college for another 2 years and have had enough of fighting for a laptop in the library or getting a half-charged 13 inch laptop from my college. I decided to buy a laptop to use at college, while I am away from my PC at home. I will be using it for working on MS office documents, programming (visual studio, web storm) and some VERY light Photoshop (making simple logos etc). I can spend no more than £650-£750 max as I will be getting this on finance to help spread the cost and build my credit rating up. The keyboard is really important to me for obvious reasons, I can't stand mushy cheap keyboards. And an SSD is not too important to me as I can always swap one in from my desktop or buy one at a later date but would be a nice commodity, and I'd really like a 15.6" screen. I'd appreciate any help with this as I am not familiar with the current laptop market.

Thanks!

If you want long battery life then get a Chromebook, my favorites are the Tegra powered ones. Wait a few months if you want that though as the X1 is coming out and much superior. If you want something more powerful but without quite so good battery life then get an AMD Carrizo, they have lots of threads and pretty good Graphics. Unfortunately the main seller, extended battery life, is often negated by OEM batteries being less powerful. If you need raw CPU performance get an Intel i5 powered laptop. You probably don't want a gaming laptop as they are overkill for the stuff you want to do.
