Need good gaming headset

Corsair Vengeance 1500.

Great build quality, good sound and the mic is really clear. Some users complain that its a little tight - and it's true - but it will adjust the more you use it. Mine did.

The only other thing I have to moan about is that the material over the cups gather dust and fluff easily.

But for your price range I can't recommend this headset enough.

Lol I saw your other posts of connecting a mic to headphones... Bad and ugly idea imo. But thanks for the tip! 😀

Yeah I don't like tight headsets. I think I will just go for the Logitech G230 (heard the are good for the price) and I'll buying a relatively cheap gaming mouse with the money I will have left over. Would you suggest another path?

Nothing great, my friend has that exact pair. Build quality is the same, if not worse than the Razer Kraken.

If you really wanted a headset you could look into the Kingston HyperX Cloud. It's a rebrand of Takstar Pro 80 headphones which are quite decent.

Have you heard of Plantronics 780's? Just saw some ppl saything they are pretty good. Also I just found out that the Logitech G230's swivel 90 degrees, which I hate with a passion, so I won't be getting them lol.

Oh and the takstar pro's/kingston hyperx clouds look like they would snap after a week of use. I have kids in my house so I would need some that are pretty durable.

I've heard of them, but haven't tried them. Go to amazon and look at all the bad reviews (3 or less stars). There is where you will find the truth about these headphones, compared to the people that try them for 5 minutes and write a five star review.

seem to have decent sound quality but poor construction

Why would you say that? They're held together by a metal band, mimicking some of Beyerdynamic's headphones and it should be quite durable.

Woah thanks for that, read review titles and kinda skimmed the reviews, pretty much everyone is saying that they fell apart after 6 months-1 year...

My hunt for a good pair of headphones in officially over. Ill just fix my old headset or get some skullcandies and use them. I'll just go ahead and buy an $80 gaming mouse. I would need at least $200 for a good gaming headset. Anyways, thank you a lot for the help!!
