Need Help Choosing a Laptop

I'm perfectly comfortable with the desktop market, but I'm not familiar with the laptop market and I'm looking into getting a replacement to my 2 year old Toshiba that had mediocre hardware when I got it and I need a replacement. Despite having a pretty good desktop, I find myself using my laptop quite a bit, but I can't play modern games on my current one (it crashed playing BF3).

I did some looking around, and Lenovo's are most consistently acclaimed, but they're using mid-range video adapters and while you can SLI the cards, it requires you remove the Optical drive to use and I just can't do that and really don't want to use an external optical drive.
The Razer Blade is supposed to be really good (and light) but it doesn't have an Ethernet port.
I refuse to overpay for an Alienware. I don't want a Dell.

Here's some of the things I want:

Budget: Between 1000 and 2000, but the cheaper the better.
Size: 15.6" with 1920x1080 resolution. 17" is too big, IMO.
i7 Processor
8GB+ RAM (with room to upgrade)
250GB+ SSD.
USB 3.0 Ports
Blu-Ray Optical Drive

I don't want a touchscreen.

I need something that I can play Battlefield and other new games (Bioshock Infinite, GTA V whenever it comes out) on when I'm not at home, and be able to play new games on it for at least 2 years. The less often I "need" to buy a laptop, the better.

Lenovo Y510P, yes it has SLI but you can buy an Ultrabay DVD/Blueray player for it. 1200$

I had been taking a long look at the Y510P, but SLI and BF4 haven't been mixing well together and would prefer a single better card which Lenovo doesn't supply on any of their builds.
As for the MSI laptop you linked, I'd prefer to stay away from the 2000 mark as much as possible.

I should have said this earlier, I would perfectly fine with a video card that is comparable to the GeForce GTX 770 for desktops (which is what I have on my desktop).

for an laptop to have equivalent power of GPU that the GTX 770 is you would have to get something like SLI 780M / CF 8970M ( which cost +3000$ )

edit : for a 1200$ you cant get a better gaming laptop than the Y510P, next step would be probably 770M ( loses still to most titles against 755M SLI - http/www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152401

No laptop graphics card in existence is that powerful, although you get get someting like the gtx 770m which is the notebook equivalent of your desktop graphics card.
