Need help finding new computer

My current laptop is several years old and is starting have several major problems so I'm looking to get a new one. I am in college so I'm looking for a laptop, I want something that I can play games with but also edit videos since I am taking film classes. I don't know a whole lot about computers but a friend has helped me figure some things out, my price range is around $800 its okay if it goes over a little but I do have a few things I want

Specs
Dual or Quad core CPU (around 2.0-3.0 GHz)
750MB-1TB Memory
4GB or more of RAM
AMD or NVidia graphics (Dedicated and the newer the better)
2GB or more of dedicated graphics RAM


I want to be able to play steam games like space engineers and Dayz, maybe even Skyrim if the computer is fast enough but also want to be able to use avid or adobe, and have the computer be fast for just doing everyday things.

Any help would be much appreciated I have been looking for a while but I'm not really sure what is considered good for those kind of things.
