Need Help Finding The Best Set of Speakers For Me

What I Have Currently: Logitech Z4

What I'm Looking For:

  • Wide Frequency Response (not concerned with the highs too much, but would like the best bass response as possible).
    Wattage does not matter
2.1 only please, not 2.0 and not 5.1
Price Should Be Under $400 (If you find something higher, but close to $400, let me know and I'll consider it)
Wired Only (they tend to perform better)

What I Don't Want:

  • Subwoofer Not Too Bulky (for example, the Corsair SP2500's subwoofer is massive; I need something larger than what I have, but smaller than the SP2500. Somewhere about mid-way between the two or smaller).
However, speaker size does not matter and should not be a problem
    Wireless

Additional Details: My father has the Bose® Companion® 5 multimedia speaker system, but the bass on it didn't perform even as well as my Logitech Z4 that I've had for many years.

If you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer them.

Lets just use this one please.

If the forum is slow, hitting submit over and over(please avoid this) just makes a mess of threads that are all the same.

The Bose system needs careful sub placement to sound good(or better). I know with the right placement the Altec Lansing 641 sub was VERY good(and sure could pump out the bass). those speakers are long dead, but the companion is almost like a smaller version of that thing.

The Corsair SP2500 was the first thing that came to mind, but if that is too big, then it is a no go.

I removed them for you. now to see what others here recommend for you :)

You may actually be fine with some of the smaller Logitech sets if you have had good luck with them in the past.

I personally have the S550's by Edifier, but they break all your rules(too big and 5.1). You may also not get the THUMP you want until they are turned up, then they get much stronger.
