I have been going on for about 2 years now without a "to go PC" and have always played on my desktop but since I will be travelling a lot from now, I'm thinking of getting Alienware 13 (2015) version.

My problem is, I can't really decide what to choose on some parts in customizing so I would like to ask help from the pro's 'round here :)

Here is my preferred build (and parts where I'm getting confused on) :

  • Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-5500U
    GPU: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 860M with 2GB GDDR5
    Memory: 16GB Dual Channel DDR3L at 1600MHz (2x 8GB)
    HDD :

    • 256GB SSD @+120$ or
      512GB SSD @+320$ or
      512GB m2.80 NGFF TLC SSD + 128 m2.80 NGFF TLC SSD @+450$
Display: FHD comes with the package or QHD w/ touch @ +230$

Soo... it's basically the Storage and Display that I'm getting confused about. Hope you guys can help me. Thank you very much

512GB SSd would be the best option
since m.2 ssd's full bandwidth would not be used and it is also not very cost effective

And also .,.,.,.,alienware uses the latest SATA3 standards

so bottlenecks wont be a problem

For the storage, go for the 256gb - you can always buy a USB3 hard drive later if you find you need more storage later.

For the display, IMHO, you don't need the extra pixels - FHD should be fine. If you need the touch then by all means go for it, but otherwise, FHD is easily enough.

Is +200$ not worth it for 512GB? XD

It's not - you can buy a 500gb SSD for less than the price they are asking for for the upgrade. Alienware's are famous for being overpriced.
