I have a laptop that is driving me crazy. Its a compaq v5000 and the dc jack is bad, I bought a new jack but it still didnt work. By the way this computer was given to me to fix. Well the problem is after replacing the dc jack I noticed 3 or 4 wires running from the dc jack are broke. By the look at the connection to the motherboard. I took some pictures of it and will post here.

By the way the wire bends I am assuming it connects near the battery terminals. Im in urgent need of help.

Sorry I couldn't get a bigger or zoomed in view.

Thank you. Can you tell me what polarity I need. Therenaren2 red 2 black.

I'm not sure, it's marked on the schematic that pins 1 and 2 are the black wires, and pins 3 and 4 are the red wires. But to be sure, look at the pins 1 and 2 if they are connected to ground. Also, the pins 3 and 4 are connected to PL1 who is a coil.

Ok. I will look. Also if you look at the second image I uploaded it has only 3 pins. But there is 4 wires so I am assuming im look at the wrong place.
