Need help unlocking my ZTE Z837VL

I have looked all over the internet trying to find the unlock code for my ZTE. I just called the unlocking company and they told me that my phone could b unlocked but since it has not been active 4 a yr yet they couldn't give me the code. Can someone help me out here?
