Need help with hard drive

I have an Alienware m11x laptop. The hard drive died. I put a hard drive from an old Toshiba in and ot works again. My problem is that the Alienware has different specs and the software to work the lights like the keyboard and exterior lights. How can i get the original Alienware info to this "new" hard drive? Please help. This eas a good laptop before. Im not concerned about lost files or games or anything like that, just the core system files to make it like it was before.

You will need to reinstall the OS from scratch. Speaking of OS, what OS are you on right now? You'll find all relevant drivers and apps off this support site courtesy of Dell. I didn't know if you're on the R2 since it wasn't mentioned in your post.

The os on it now is 7 Ultimate. But thats not what it was originally. What is R2? If i reinstall a different os, that will just be a new os right? Not the specs, and alienware specific things?

contact dell for a small fee they send you a restore cd to put the factory image back on or show you where to download the factory iso image.
