Solved! Need help with Zoom

I am new to Tom's Guide and new using Zoom, also one of the lesser computer literate people on this board, so please answer in plain English and not large technical terms (if you have an answer that is)
I am trying to change the virtual background - lots of videos out there on how to do that BUT Zoom says I have to have a Green Screen first. After lots of searching not one single place tells you what the heck is a green screen. Is it something I have to download??? Order, purchase, what the heck is it????? Other than paining my walls green - i just don't want everybody seeing my family photos or half finished remodel job while doing conferences.

Yet another video that doesn't answer the question I asked. As I said the software tells me I NEED a green screen and won't use a virtual background. This is the same information I keep finding everywhere else.

Are you using a standard Windows PC/laptop and the typical Zoom application?

I have used Zoom, do NOT have a green screen, and am able to use a virtual background. Not an issue at all.

Trying to determine if you are doing something different than other users.

I have a 2 month old HP laptop , with Windows 10 and downloaded Zoom 2 weeks ago.

When in a call, have you tried changing your virtual background?

You do not need a green screen to use virtual backgrounds.
