This Gigabyte laptop has a 4th-generation quad-core i7 CPU, a 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD combo, 16GB of RAM, and a very powerful GTX 970M GPU. Everything will work fine for years on this PC.

This MSI laptop, for the same price, has nearly the same specs, except with a 256GB SSD.

Both laptops are 17.3", however.

This 15.6" Dell Alienware has similar specs, and a 128GB SSD+1TB HDD combo.

Hello, i'm really looking for the screen to be 15.6". The 17.3" is kind of big. Also i think the Dell Alienware is not really thin laptop. Basically i'm not looking for a gaming laptop although some of the specs that i've mentioned seem to be. Any other suggestions? Thank you.

Hey guys, sorry for the late reply. I did check all of the suggestions you recommended to me and i went with Asus Zenbook Pro UX501 signature edition from Microsoft. The laptop had some issues with the resolution on some of the programs due to the 4k display. I did return it back due to having overheating issues. The fan was loud all the time and the tempts on idle were close to 70. I'm waiting for a refund and i'm back on the market for a laptop :(. So far from all of the choices given above and the research i did on my own those are my choices below. Any suggestions?

2. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA89C2YW2935&cm_re=laptop_4k-_-9SIA89C2YW2935-_-Product

or to try again with Asus Zenbook Pro UX501 although it's out of stock right now.

One side question, is it better to go with a 4k or 1920 x 1080 display? I love the 4k display but i think it's a long way till everything starts to support 4k.

Thank you!

Out of the 2, I would go with msi. The gtx 970m is much stronger than the 960m.

To decide on if 4k or 1080p is the best, it will depend on the version of photoshop and other adobe products you use. If it is cs6 or earlier, then 1080p is best. The cc version are good for 4k as they support scaling.
