Solved! Need laptop for lightweight tasks

Hello,

I need a new laptop for simple web browsing, video watching, and maybe very light gaming.

My budget is $500 maximum.

One major thing for me is that the laptop be thin and have a simple, but sleek design. I also prefer a completely black laptop, but any would do.

No netbooks, please. I really don't like them.

Older games (2003 and older) or games that aren't demanding at all . Gaming is more of an optional aspect, the web browsing and video watching is more primary.

It probably would of been helpful of me to mention that I really don't like netbooks, lol. They're too awkward for me and the screen resolution is too small for my liking. I appreciate the suggestion, though .

I pretty much agree with you - and they're a bit too weak in the CPU.
But the 12" 1366x768 (standard resolution for 15") laptops and the E-350 CPU makes it more palatable.

TOSHIBA Satellite L635-S3100 13" NoteBook $480
Pentium P6200 2.13GHz CPU (part of the Core i3/i5 family) 4GB RAM 500GB HDD 13.3" 1366x768 LCD w/ Intel HD Graphics.
A nice upgrade in CPU power there but also slightly less game friendly Intel HD graphics.
Not especially thin - but a nice size for toting around and under five pounds.

And I think I'll withdraw my recommendation of the TOSHIBA Satellite L635-S3100
based on this review: Toshiba Satellite L635-S3104. It's a different model but in the same family as the one above.
