Intel Core i3 dual core processor.
1.8GHz processor speed.
8GB RAM.
1024GB SATA hard drive.
Microsoft Windows 8.

ASUS VivoBook X550CA - Intel® Core™ i3-3217U processor
Windows 8
Memory: 4 GB
Hard drive: 500 GB

or can you suggest anything else.

Both laptops you posed has the same processor - Core™ i3-3217U . So you consider the quality and the double RAM/storage of the HP . i would get the HP - the more the better .
