Need to certify

I recently purchased a nextbook Android tablet model number NX16A8116K and it's not certified. Can I factory reset it and put the activation code back in and will it be certified then or what? Please someone help me. I know about rooting and don't want to take the risks of if I do it wrong so please don't say root cause you'll be wasting ur time and mine... thanks
