Just look up the manual for your router make/model and it will guide you through setting up a password and establishing a secure wireless connection.

You should just login to it from its web interface.

Most of them are something like
try each of these in your web browser
192.168.2.1
192.168.1.1
192.168.0.1

Chances are one of those will get you to the login.

You should be able to look in the routers manual or post the model here for more detailed info.
