Damn!! For a second I thought I was going to be able to stop renting the entire seasons from my local video store for $5 and ripping them to my server.

Guess not.

Was gonna stream over Xbox with Zune software until I saw they wanted you to fork over $50 per season. Microsoft you f_cking greedy bastards dont you realize you can buy the physical copies and OWN them for less than $30 on Amazon??????

When will rich companies with billions of dollars in the bank stop trying to f_ck consumers? And to think they have the nerve to whine about piracy?

its not like MS is forcing you to buy it

"The episodes for each subsequent season won't be available for streaming until each season is over, so there's no legitimate way to drop the cable networks just yet."

Unless you just wait for the season to be over and available for steaming... waiting isn't a legitimate way to drop the cable networks? How's is this tool still employed?

For some people, waiting actually isnt a legitimate way to drop the cable networks.

While not as offensively layered as Fyend, I was similarly thinking that waiting until the next season to watch is certainly the great way to stick it to cable/satellite providers. I don't need it NOW NOW NOW. It would still be new to me.

I prefer to watch a series, even if it's seasonal, one episode after the other. I can't do that with pay-TV without a lot of hassle and extras, but I can with Netflix.

I remember about 10 years ago watching Toonami Reactor online watching old dragon ball z and such and reading forums about people saying streaming would never catch on.

L.O.L

well back than we had at best dialup, and the eairly working of dsl and cable modems. and in the grand scheme, still only have the basics, (japan you can get a 100mbps line up and down for less than 50$, where i live in america i only have 2mb down and 300kb up for little over 100$ a month)

Netflix is the greatest ever. I dropped cable and just wait for the seasons to show up.
Media Center for is my OTA DVR. (although media center is unreliable)

I agree with smy: I prefer to watch a series, even if it's seasonal, one episode after the other.

If I have the money I'll probably always have TV service for things like specials, Fox News and CNN. However for really good shows I like waiting for the whole season to be over, like: Mad Men, Burn Notice, Breaking Bad, Californication, Dexter, Eureka, Stargate Universe, Sons of Anarchy, True Blood (S02 was weird, haven't seen S03 yet), Weeds, Modern Family, The Walking Dead, Top Shot and V. I am doing this more and more though. Like to watch 2-4 episodes at a time if possible. For new shows in the last year I've watched the 1st episode and going to wait until it's over to see the whole season, like Nikita...
