New Gaming Laptop

Just traded old computer for an Asus G73jh laptop. It has 6 gigabytes of ram.
The upgrades i was looking to get for it were 8 gb of ram and an ssd. Would 128gb ssd be sufficient or should i get 256? Also, are cooling pads and carrying cases worth the price for gaming laptops? THanks!

The bigger the better for the SSD if you can afford it...when you say 8 gb of ram ...did you mean another 8gb on top of your 6gb ?

Oops forgot to add, a case to PROTECT it (well padded) is ALWAYS a good idea and so are cooling pads for a gamer...
