New Ipad Mini 2014?

So I am planning on buying the ipad mini soon. The only thing holding me back is knowing that a new one might release this fall with touch id, better hardware, and overall a longer lifespan of updates. Would it be wise to wait a month or two to see what happens your go ahead and make the purchase?

its better to just wait till apple announce the latest products, if i am not mistaken they are announcing it on sept 3rd ?
