atleast 3+ hours after full charge, preferably more though

I want to be able to play Starcraft II on medium to high settings. Other than that maybe a few other games like Halo 3 and Portal 2, and NBA 2k11

A little bit of gaming, watching videos, and note taking.

Don't like HP because had laptop before and screen problems.

I've asked before and got recommendations for Dell Xps 15, was wondering if that is the best deal out there?

If battery wasn't important for you,then you could find more powerful laptops than XPS 15 but since you need at least 3hrs,then XPS 15 or Sager NP5160 are 2 of your best choices

To add to what WR2 said,if you're going to do lots of image/video editing,then get the i7 2630QM.It's definitely worth it
