New laptop screen

Hi! I have a dell 17 inch laptop with a 1080p resolution and full hd. My laptop's screen was just replaced because of several pixel problems, but now it seems to me like there's a reduction in the quality of the movies I watch. Is that even possible? is there a way to check if the new screen really is 1080p and a full hd?

In windows 7: Check your screen resolution by right clicking the desktop and pressing "Screen resolution"

If this is not an available option on right click: navigate to Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display\Screen Resolution where it will allow you to detect your monitor's settings.

more likely that the new display is not of the same build quality.
Just because it is both 1080 resolution does not mean the colors will be equally as vivid and crisp
