new laptop very slow

Hello i bought a laptop with i7 4510 u processor with 8gb ram and it had windows 8.1 but i upgraded to windows 10. it's got an nvidia geforce 840m graphics card which i know isn't the best ...but i can't even play games on it with 800x600 resoultion the fan spins like crazy and my motherboard goes to 70c and my cpu goes to 70c but my graphics always stay below 60 c .

even on non entensive games the fan spins the heat goes up i can feel hot hair coming threw the sides and my laptop gets laggy i can't figure out the problem any help pls

i had an asus i5 4210u 8gb ram laptop that can play the games with out any problems with only hd4400 graphics

my new i7 4510 8gb ram laptop can't play the same games as my older laptop it heats up very fast and it has the same hd4400 and an nvidia geforce graphics card which is better but this laptop lags and the games are unplayabale any help?

What laptop is it? Are you using a cooling pad? Did you set the power plan to "High Performance"?

whats the laptop models try lower settings and if its none gaming laptop find a cooling pad.

Most likely, Nvidia Optimus is not switching to your 840m, so games are probably running on the CPU's integrated Intel chipset, which offers around a third the performance of your dedicated card. I don't have a laptop with an Nvidia card, but try installing the latest graphics drivers from their website, and check the settings in Nvidia's control panel, as well as the Windows power settings to make sure they're set to use your card in place of the integrated chipset for games.
