new notebook : Please help me choose!

I just sold my Samsung chromebook on amazon, because i found it slow the arm processor was just aggravating to use. but i loved the form factor , the weight and the battery life of it. I also liked chrome os and i had linux duel booted with it also. I am thinking of either getting the new acer c720 (250 dollars) which has an awsome battery life, a haswell processor, and 4gb of ram or add some more money(nearly double as much) to get a late 2011 macbook air 11inch from ebay for around 600 dollars. the macbook i would probably keep untill i am done with college. i will only need this laptop for the commute , I have a custom built gaming rig at home that i use most of the time. so it is more like a secondary computer.

I would love to know what you guys think of this any other suggestions are very welcome,

secondary option so better go for acer c720 and save money
