New ROG Zeph G CPU hitting 90C

when i plug my 1660ti amd ryzen 7 cpu gaming laptop in, i get my cpu sit at 60 celsius at 3900 mhz, then i un plug it drops the temp by over 10c and down to 1700mhz. I think while gaming this is why im hitting 90c. any help ? completely new to pc gaming. it runs hot but it keeps peaking that 90 c and i wish it would rely on my gpu more

Gaming on laptops will cause them to heat up. The cooling system is designed to accommodate that increase in temperature.

When on AC power the CPU will run at full speed. When on battery, it will slow down to conserve power. This behavior is normal and expected.

hitting those temps results in slow down so its not handling it. It should be handling games on medium settings but this game in general is more demanding of my CPU I think.
