NEW Toshiba Touchscreen Laptop Black Screen

Just bought brand new toshiba touchscreen laptop yesterday from Best Buy. Have not used it yet. Just now powered it up. The power button is lit up but the screen is completely black. Help???

remove battery and power cord. hold power button for 15 sec. reinstall battery and power cord.
