Newby to setting up powered sub

I just got a velodyne powered subwoofer. I have a Sony str de585. I can't seem to hookup.

what seems to be the problem? it should just be a matter of connecting via a subwoofer cable.

your receiver has a subwoofer port (LFE) while your subwoofer should have one of its ports dedicated to a mono LFE input. it should be in the manual under connectivity.

After you connect the subwoofer to the receiver subwoofer output you will need to configure the receiver to turn on the subwoofer output.
