[citation][nom]doomtomb[/nom]The Wii is a dead duck. They get like 5 good games a year.[/citation]

The 360 and the PS3 got PC games port... except a handful of exclusives titles, both console offer really few games of high quality that I can't enjoy on my PC.

RE5... no... SF4... no... Mass Effect... hmmm... Modern Warfare... The Witcher... oups, PC exclusive.

Seriouly, I can care less about Halo and Gears of War. The only game I am missing till today is Virtua Fighter 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, Valkyrie Chronicle and Demon Soul.

Its isn't about being the best, its about providing good value for the shareholders and for the consumers.

The Wii isn't the best console for hardcore gamers but it provides a lot of fun for the price and appeals to a much wider audience.

Don't buy it. Consider to whom Reggie speaks - Gametrailers (i.e. the consumer). Next week he will meet with Goldman Sachs and to expect the Wii HD by Q4 2010. Of course he's going to say this - meanwhile Nintendo's president is saying HD for Nintendo is a "natural progression". Smoke and mirrors peeps.

Graphics aside, The Wii is still the best damn play experience to break the mold of d-pad controllers.
*swings the controller around, tilts it side to side, plays virtual golf

Let's keep in mind, Nintendo isn't focusing on the high end gaming crowd like Sony and Microsoft are with their consoles. That's easily proven by the difference in games, controllers, console prices, graphics quality, etc...

Nintendo has their portion of the market share for a reason.

I find it annoying that Nintendo is constantly releasing "new" stuff. Stuff that is in fact not new at all but simply adding things that we already have in our cell phones.

It's sad that the ZuneHD or ipod touch both are better gaming systems.

Does anyone even believe this? Off coarse they are going to say it will never happen even if they did plan on doing it. They would shoot themselves in the foot sales wise if they told everyone too far out. Everyone that doesn't have one would just wait. It is the same thing companies do when denying price cuts.

[citation][nom]precariousgray[/nom]Nintendo is all about pushing out-of-date technology in its "new" consoles. If consumers are lucky, their "next generation" hardware might even be half as powerful as an Xbox 360![/citation]

And 360 owners would be lucky to find something anywhere near half a gaming PC. ^_^

nintendo wil be the next duclk to die , if thier next console can't offer something more complelling than just a new ( and gimicky) control scheme. i hate how sega's hard ware dep had to die ( and no sega didn't die they just closed shop on their hardware). sega at elast did inovative things withn all thier systems . nintendo wil die saddly some of us may look back and realize while teh wii was crap ... we will miss nintendo when they go bye bye

Great, thanks Nintendo for holding back console development for another 10 years...

The Wii or "GameCube rehashed" must cost perhaps $10 to make. I wonder just how much they're making on each Wii.

Just remembering the PSX vs N64...
32bit 33MHz CPU vs 64bit 90MHz CPU... the loss though was 700MB CDs vs 8-64MB cartridges...
Nintendo used to have the most powerful console... wtf happened?

everyone keeps talking about hd. have you forgotten that games after 20 years are still being played and what's worse is that they aren't even hd but are pixelated. if people are still playing games that were 20 years old, it means hd isn't important. what is important is the game itself.

when you watch a movie in blu-ray quality or in dvd quality, does it make a difference? the answer is no because in the end of the movie, you get the same experience.

so there is no wii hd because what is important of the game is the game and not the visuals or the sound. this is good on the developers because now they focus on other developments of the game rather then just the visuals and sound of the game.

what happened is that the developers have abandoned them. there is two instances where nintendo has had the most powerful system in the market, the n64 and the gamecube. in the two instances, nintendo had the best hardware but developers neither cared for them. it means developers have abandoned them. what did nintendo do, they abandoned them because they were abandoned by third parties. now third parties are in a struggle to make money where money is tight. sink or swim, live or die, the choice is yours to make as a developer but you can already see that most will die because most still don't give support to nintendo.

For all the power and HD prowess of the Xbox360 and PS3 they were not and will never be the market success of the Wii. In fact Nintendo out sold both of it's competitors combined, and is in fact so popular that both Sony and M$ are looking to motion sensing controller for their next releases.

So it always amuses me when console gamers trash the Wii for being underpowered and a "gimmick" when it was the console that (like every Nintendo console before it)transformed the gaming market. Consoles are not like CPUs and GPUs where the best overall product will determine the best product. The best console is determined by the number of units sold, so no matter how much you love that PS3 or Xbox 360 it's still an inferior product.

Meh. I suppose the Wii could implement an upscaling chip, like the PS3 does, but for one the Wii was not designed for Hi-def. For another Nintendo does not want to piss off people who already bought a Wii just yet. Also, if the next gen Nintendo Hardware is backwards compatible with Wii games then the Wii HD would have a short lifespan and thus not be worth the effort and time to develop and test.

[citation][nom]apmyhr[/nom]In other news, Nintendo Wii sales continue to decline...[/citation]

In other news, Nintendo continues to outsell the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 combined.

Of course there wont be a Wii HD. It will be a Wii Resolution Plus, continuing in the tradition of charging for what should have been there from the start.

The peopel who bought Wiis (at least the bulk of them, excluding the core Nintendo gamers) don't care about this. In fact, they've already stopped caring about their Wiis a long time ago, like everybody should have.
