No Boot Drive No BIOS

I have a HP Pavillion 15 n028US that was dropped hard and the hdd was clicking loudly. I put in another hdd that already had windows 7 installed, I powered it on and it got all the way to windows so I installed some drivers for the n028us graphics and wireless lan. It then restarted to apply the windows updates and new drivers. At about 30% the screen went blank but power light and fan still on. left it for an hour still nothing so I shut it off and then when I powered back up same black screen with light and fan on. I took the battery out of the mobo to clear cmos and when started back up it say no boot device found please install os on hdd. I cant get into system recovery or any bios, the only thing i can do is a memory or hdd check and go into boot options but nothing is listed in the boot option even with a bootable usb. I tried rebooting with the os disk in the drive but it says image could not be authenticated. Any ideas?

Im thinking maybe its the mobo. Think I might gamble and buy a $30 used mobo and give it a shot.
