no signal to projector

I have a Dell XPS m150. We use it for the projector display. Out of the blue, the projector is showing 'not detecting rgb signal'. It is the same when I connect to an external monitor - no signal detected.

I have tried a 2nd projector to no avail. When I checked the drivers they were all working. The only fault showing in the device manager is - comm port 3 fault.

If you have tried a different cable and it still does not work.
if you are using DVI cable - multi pin with screw posts and you have been plugging and unplugging with the computer turned on then you may have damaged the graphics card.There is a reason for the screws.

Yes I have tried different cables. The laptop doesn't have anything for the vga input screws to go into. One of the pins was damaged. It is constantly being pulled out. Thanks for suggestions. I will tell them to check the graphics card.
