Question No sound from my internal Benq LCD Monitor speakers?

My monitors model ID is XL2720-B and type is XL2720T.

It's a hand me down monitor and I've been trying to get the internal speakers to work. I have my laptop connected through an HDMI cabel. I've also tried to connect my nintendo switch with it's own HDMI cabel, but no sound is coming.

When I am in playback settings, it shows that sound is coming through the monitor, but I can't hear anything. I have tried to disable all other playback devices as well, but no sound. I have turned the volume all the way up, both on the monitor and on my computer, but it's not working.

When I plugged in some ear buds into my monitor, it worked. So it seems to be something with the monitor?

I don't see anywhere that it states that model has speakers.

It doesnt have any speakers m8 thats why theres no sound coming out. You can plug in a jack yeh but it'll just take the sound from the hdmi.

Thank you I was told it had built in speakers, but maybe they misunderstood as well
