No sound on sanyo flat screen with firestick. Works fine with cable

I hooked up the firestick and i get no sound. I have Sanyo flat screen and hooked to hdmi 1. I have tried all the settings on firestick audio with no luck

Is the firesticks and TV´s firmware up to date?

If the HDMI Input you used is also a DVI input then you need to make sure the TV is set to HDMI rather than DVI.

I do have a solution as i ran into the same exact problem as you guys. I will definitely say that just because this way works, it shouldn't have to be this way. You should just be able to hear it through your television. what I did was I connected in the settings menu my fire stick to a Bluetooth speaker and it works like that. I bought an oontz angle 3 for $25 off Amazon and I use that. I'm sure any Bluetooth speaker would be fine. That's really the only solution to the problem. I'm upset that Amazon would put out a product that doesn't play sound through certain TVs, but on the other hand, my Bluetooth speaker sounds a hell of a lot better than my TV ever did. I keep it right on my nightstand in my bedroom so I don't have to have the volume cranked to hear the television. Good luck
