no wlan on board

my laptop has no wlan on it so i plugged in a adapter but the laptop wont identify it says its and unknown device and when i install correct driver i get blue screen and it shuts down

Like popatim said, you should refer to the manual. Most wireless devices need to have the drivers present before plugging the device in. Maybe try looking up the drivers on another computer, and loading them onto a USB for installation (to ensure you have the most up-to-date software)?
