i have got a 5.1 surround sound system( logitech z506) and the asus xonar dg.

whenever i play games or music, only my side speakers are being used. My center and rear speakers do not produce any audio. i have got all the latest drivers installed.

does anyone know how i can make the other speakers work aswell? and recommended audio settings in games like battlefield 4?

thanks.

...how are they hooked up?

...what are your windows sound settings set to?

...when you play movies do you get surround?

----

just a fyi... music will only be played from your front speakers since its stereo only (in most cases anyways...)

i have got the black, orange and green cable going direct from my card to my subwoofer.( sorry i don't know the names of the cables...)
when i test it with the software i can hear the other speakers.

also when i play a show like walking dead i can hear audio form all the speakers.
but still when i play battlefield 4 i can also only hear it form 2 speakers, is there a setting wich allows me to hear all 5 speakers?

they are 3.5mm audio cables.

green: front speakers
orange: center and sub
black: rear speakers

right click the speaker icon in your taskbar notification area.
sound devices
click your device. click configure
are they set to 5.1 surround?

also what are your in game audio settings ? try cycling through the different modes. it sounds like some sort of setting in game as you already specified that movies sound fine.
