In 2006 - five years ago - it would have been worth £999

Now? A five year old laptop. Not sure it's a good deal at ANY price. It's a 'failure-waiting-to-happen' for any buyer.
I would not recommend anyone buy one when new, much more powerful laptops are very nicely priced.
