i don't understand how this is the longest continuous lan party. 36 hours? QuakeCon has been going on for years and it is open for over 72 hours, and doesn't close for the night or anything like that. wtf?

I'd have done that even without the record. Free food and drinks is enough for me.

tawilson: I think the difference here was that they actually had someone from the Guiness book there to validate the results. If QuakeCon was smart they would invite them over for their next LAN and see if they can take that crown away.

Million Man Lan in Louisville has hosted a roughly 76 hour event EVERY June for the past 5 years. Even better, the FIRST MML lasted 100 hours. They also have gathered anywhere from 700-1300 people every year. How is this a record?

I think its because all 203 of them had to stay awake and actually play the whole time.
