One of my computers has crashed can i hook it up to my other one

one of my lap tops has crashed can i hook it up to my other one and use the clean up tools on that one to repair it

What caused the crash? Something like a catastrophic motherboard failure? Hard drive gone bad?
Do you have a bootable CD you can test?
If not, you can burn yourself a bootable CD and run an AV scan too.
