Amazon has it for 2299. That looks like a real good price. Any
comments on the TV? Also what are people's opinions of extended
warranties?

I have one and I like it alot.
HDTV and DVDs look great, standard TV is sometimes unwatchable: this seems
to be the case with all HDTVs basically.
Glad I got it instead of a plasma and saved a ton of money: but I paid more
than what you quote.
This set is in a room that is very bright in the morning but there is no
problem with viewing, great off-axis viewing.
If the extended warranty covers bulb replacement it is probably worthwhile.

How low do you think the prices will be after the Super Bowl?

I have the 46HM84. It's a nice TV, though I haven't used it with
HDTV yet. DVDs look absolutely great, SD is eh (especially after it
goes through the Tivo) but bearable.

The anti-glare coating on the screen works wonderfully, as there are big
windows behind the viewer, and the TV is still very watchable. That was
one of the main things I was looking for when I was in the showrooms,
because of the light conditions the TV would have to operate in.

I bought mine through OneCall.com, and am very satisfied with their
service and pricing.

I'm not sure if extended warranties are worth it in general.

We chose the 52hm94. It will cost you about $300 more, but alot more
inputs. CableCard, HDMI & firewire and I think the picture is a little
better. IMHO

We didn't like the sets with the glossy screen. We have a wall of windows
20 ft high in our family room. Even with the lamp on low, there is no
problem with glare or contrast.

We had it 4 weeks and couldn't be happier.

I'm not in marketing, but my guess is the price are about as low as they'll
be until new models come out with lower MSRP's. Of course, this is based
on supply and demand. So, if Best Buys or CC are still holding a large
quantity, you might see another big drop. But, they were selling 52hm84's
for $2999 before Christmas.
Not a lot were showing the XXhm94's or XXhmx94's. Not even our local
Toshiba vendor. And, I'm guessing the Amazon price of $2299 doesn't include
s/h which will add on another $200 for curbside freight which is way too
much for a 80lb tv. I had my 52" shipped 2day FedEx for $160.

Amazon's shipping cost is $119 for the 52HM94
