I found a coupon for the Envy 17, and after looking at the specs (CPU, GPU, etc) and build quality (screen, audio, build) I decided to buy one. Now I'm having a bit of buyer's anxiety, .

So I got the following:
i7-3610QM (quad core, 2.3GHz base, Ivy Bridge)
Radeon 7850m
6GB RAM (2 dimms, 1600MHz)
750 GB Hybrid hard drive (sounds like Seagate Momentus XT)

for $1092

Think it's a good deal?

AMD Radeon HD 7850M review:

Envy 17 has the slightly slower clocked version of the card. Still a very potent graphics card on par with GTX 560M / GT 650M.

It's direct competitor would be a ASUS N76VZ-DS71 which looks like (depending on full configuration options) might be $200-250 more.

That works out to be a good value on the Envy 17 for a premium notebook.

A friend of mine just had an envy 17 delivered yesterday. Its pretty sweet. The hybrid drive makes for fast boots, and the display is awesome!

I see, can you elaborate on the 7850M's performance a bit more? Notebookcheck is giving me some weird percentages in performance.
