I've just received a laptop with a 1TB HDD installed with Windows 10 on it. My old, broken laptop has a 2TB SSD with Windows 8.1 and all of my important programs and files on it. This is my music production hard drive and having to reinstall 1.5TB of programs and set up pathing for libraries and such is not how I would like to spend the next week and a half and I do not have an external hard drive to do this. On top of this, the new laptop only has one drive bay and no disk reader I can hijack the bay for.
Is there any way to move the Windows 10 OS from the HDD to my SSD without jeopardizing all of my program files, etc?
I think there may be some way to do it with partitions but I'm unsure.
Tl;dr
New Laptop has hdd
New laptop has windows 10
Old laptop has ssd
Old laptop has windows 8 and all files
How move windows 10 from hdd to old ssd and not lose my programs and files
