When I delete an email in Outlook, it stays in the inbox with a line through the subject. How do I get the deleted items to automatically move out of the inbox to the Deleted items folder (trash). My inbox is a mess.

I figured out how to get them out of my inbox, but I do not know where they go.
Under view at the top- go to current view, and there is a box to check that says something like Hide items marked for deletion. I checked that and they went away. That cleared up my inbox, but I don't know whey are hiding - they are not in my deleted folder

Did you use the Shift + Del keys to delete them? Also you don't want to move items to Deleted if you think you want to keep them, make a sub folder or an archive folder to keep older emails you want to keep. Only delete those emails you want gone.
